At French Space Agency CNES, Frédéric Pradeilles will from 3 April succeed the retiring Geneviève Campan as director of digital technologies; he will also head the vehicles and orbital systems engineering centre in Toulouse.

Pradeilles joined CNES’s innovation, applications and science department two years ago as a project manager and has been a CNES deputy director since November 2017. Previously, he worked at the French government’s DGA defence systems and technology procurement agency, at communication technology firm CS-Information Systems and at consulting firm CAPGEMINI. He started his career as an associate professor of mathematics at ISAE/SUPAERO after studying at Ecole Polytechnique and obtaining a PhD in applied mathematics and armament engineering.

CNES president Jean-Yves Le Gall credited Campan, who served with CNES for nearly four decades, with driving the agency’s digital transformation.
